We’ve recently added two new tours to China to our calendar for 2025 and today we’d like to share the details with you.

The first tour is a 10-day journey through Tibet. It’s a round trip starting and finishing in Lhasa, with a total distance of 2,200 km, including approx. 200 km of gravel roads.

The second tour is a one-way trip from Lhasa to Kunming (or Kunming to Lhasa, depending on the dates you choose). This tour explores Western China, covering 100% paved roads over 12 days and approximately 2,650 km.

The available bikes for this tour are the BMW F750GS, BMW R1250GS and local Kove 500/525 models. Most participants will require a visa for China, a local motorcycle license, a local guide, and permits to visit Tibet. Rest assured, we will assist with all the necessary arrangements.

Tibet offers breathtaking natural landscapes combined with a touch of rich Tibetan culture. It is the land of the world’s highest mountains, crystal-clear lakes, ancient monasteries and powerful spiritual sites.

Most of the route lies at an altitude of 4,000 meters, with one of the highlights being a visit to Everest Base Camp (5,200 meters), offering stunning views of Mount Qomolangma (another name for Everest).

The tour starts and ends in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. The roads are mostly perfect asphalt, with around 200 km of gravel roads. While the gravel sections are manageable, the high altitude adds a challenging twist.

The dates for 2025 are May 8-17, October 12-21, and October 22-31. Price starts from €4,150, which includes motorcycle rental, accommodation, guides, support vehicle, etc.

The route from Kunming to Lhasa is one of the most stunning in China. This tour will take you through Tibetan monasteries, mountain rivers, deep canyons, and the ancient towns of Lijiang and Shaxi. Expect winding mountain roads, breathtaking serpentines, the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge and much more.

This is a one-way tour with 100% paved roads.

The tour dates for 2025 are May 18-29 and June 2-13. Prices start from €4,900.

To drive a motorcycle in China, you’ll need to obtain a local driver's license. We’ll take care of everything in advance, and you’ll receive your license on the first day of the tour at the local prefecture.

There will be two guides from Rusmototravel, one riding a motorcycle and the other in a support vehicle. In the car we will have a local Chinese guide as well, we can’t do tours on our own, such are local rules. And also, local guide is required in Tibet.

To visit Tibet, a special permit issued by Chinese authorities is required. We’ll take care of this as well. However, please note that the permit takes 2-3 weeks to process, and documents must be submitted at least a month before the trip. Therefore, we kindly ask you to register for the tour well in advance.

Getting a Chinese visa is straightforward, and we’re happy to assist if needed.
